Az 1955 őszén megnyílott óvoda akkoriban még csak 75 kisgyereket tudott fogadni, az 1968-ban lezajlott átalakítás után 100 gyerek járhatott az óvodába, 1980-ban 160 gyermeknek biztosította a napközbeni felügyeletet, oktatást, nevelést.
2000-ben az önkormányzat a Kisteleki utcai óvodát átadta az Aranyeső Alapítványnak.
